Edge of Darkness
Released: May 11

Single father Thomas Craven is a homicide detective who has spent years combing Boston’s streets for the crooked and corrupt. One morning his daughter, Emma, is shot on the front steps of his home. Craven discovers that her death was no accident. Soon, solving the mystery engulfs Craven’s life and he embarks on a journey that will uncover more secrets than he could have ever imagined.

Our Take: We could have waited for it to be released on DVD, but we’re glad we didn’t.

Invictus
Released: May 18

Nelson Mandela is released from prison, South Africa is still in the middle of a heated apartheid that has the nation racially and economically split. Mandela decides to join together with the captain of South Africa’s rugby team to try and unite their terribly divided country, and it’s based on a true story. Can they bring everyone together or will everything continue to fall further apart?

Their Take: “The title may mean nothing to you, but the movie certainly will,” —USA Today

Our Take: Such a powerful movie and cast; everyone can take something from it.

The Road
Released: May 25

After an apocalyptic event, the world is left in ruins. A father and his son walk alone through the desolation in an attempt to make it further south away from the cold. The sky is dark as the snow begins to fall, and they have nothing but a pistol to ward off the encroaching cannibals. Will they make it to their destination, or will they be left in ruins on the road?
