No. 3 Gator Baseball Sweeps Tennessee

Gainesville SportsThe University of Florida baseball team opened a three-game series against the Volunteers on Friday night at McKethan Stadium.

On Friday, Florida coach Kevin O’Sullivan started with pithcer Hudson Randall ,who shut out the Vols on 74 pitches. Randall, a sophomore right-hander was chosen as the Southeastern Conference Pitcher of the Week for tossing the four-hit shutout.

Saturday, the Gators clinched its weekend series with an 11-2 victory over Tennessee in front of 3,726 fans at McKethan Stadium. Sophomore Nolan Fontana went 3-for-4, driving in six runs.

Sunday, the Gators completed their three-game sweep in front of 4,121 fans at McKethan Stadium. The Gators only allowed Tennessee three runs in the entire series while the Gators totaled 23 runs. No. 3 Florida is now (24-5/7-2 SEC).
